- If an individual Unite member employed by NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde has a
work-related problem, they should follow this procedure
- Discuss the matter informally with your supervisor or line manager.
- If this does not resolve the matter (*) ask your local Unite Representative (**)
for advice. Many issues can be resolved informally at this stage. However, if appropriate, the matter can be put into the formal grievance procedure.
- If necessary, the local Representative can ask for assistance from a Senior Representative.
(*) Please note that return to work discussions are a standard part of
the sickness absence procedure and normally union representation should not be necessary unless, and until, a formal review of attendance is proposed by Management. This formal review meeting
must be arranged separately giving the employee time to arrange to be accompanied by a union representative. (**) If you do not have a local Unite representative, then contact the appropriate
Senior Representative (see below) for advice.
