- If an individual Unite member employed by NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde has a
work-related problem, they should follow this procedure
- Discuss the matter informally with your supervisor or line manager.
- If this does not resolve the matter (*) ask your local Unite Representative (**) for
advice. Many issues can be resolved informally at this stage. However, if appropriate, the matter can be put into the formal grievance procedure.
- If necessary, the local Representative can ask for assistance from a Senior Representative.
(*) Please note that return to work discussions are a standard part of the sickness absence
procedure and normally union representation should not be necessary unless, and until, a formal review of attendance is proposed by Management. This formal review meeting must be arranged separately
giving the employee time to arrange to be accompanied by a union representative.
(**) If you do not have a local Unite representative, then contact the appropriate Senior Representative (see below) for advice.
